If you want flexible shade and shelter options for your vehicle, the Eclipse 180V Versatile Awning has got you covered from all directions. Giving you 4m² of protection from the elements, this versatile awning is designed to offer multiple mounting options for a wide range of vehicles. With side mount or rear mount flexibility, this awning is built to suit your changing needs and give you instant cover wherever the road takes you. Its perfect for the camp site or the tradie at the work site – you can use this awning anywhere.
Made for a quick and easy one person set up – the freestanding mode allows you to fully extend the awning arms before dropping the telescopic poles stowed along the rafters. There are two additional leg poles included that are simple to install, plus guy ropes and pegs to keep you stable and upright in all conditions.
The awning is made from premium 320gsm ripstop polycotton canvas and has an impressive PU 1500mm water rating and seam sealing that will keep you dry in extended rainy conditions. The awning also features pull tabs that let you create a water run off area, helping prevent water pooling on the top of the awning. The durable box-tube alloy rafter system is strong and lightweight, supported by a heavy-duty alloy swivel hinge system. The kit also includes a removable, heavy-duty PVC cover for protection when youre in transit.
The included mounting brackets suit most commercially available flat roof rack or steel basket set ups. Make sure to check the weight rating and suitability of your roof rack and vehicle with appropriate manufacturers prior to purchase. We recommend professional installation through your local 4WD centre.
Add a wall kit (sold separately) and get even more protection from the weather, extra privacy, cover for your gear or a space for the swags – the options are endless.
Ensure awning is anchored with supplied guy ropes and pegs at all times when in use.
Area of Shelter – 4m2. With walls fitted, the setup covers approx. 8 m2 depending on the height of the vehicle.
How is it different from other awnings – The Eclipse 180° Versatile Awning is unique to mount on the side or end of a vehicle.
What feature upgrades are in the new version – The canopy construct has been upgraded to a 320gsm polycotton canvas. The new aluminium hinge system and box tube alloy rafters allow for an overall reduction in weight.
Roof Rack mounting – Mounting brackets are included and will accommodate most commercially available steel basket and flat rack set ups. (Including TJM, ARB etc.). Mounting hardware for Whisper and Rhino bars will be available for purchase separately.
Materials – The canvas is a Proofed poly cotton ripstop canvas as are the walls. The frame is Alloy with steel hardware. The transit cover is made of laminated 600gsm PVC.
Does it need to be pegged down with guy ropes? – When setting the awning up it will free stand, but it is not designed to be set up without being anchored to the ground at all times. It has a large surface area so sudden wind gusts could become hazardous. Use all the anchor points and guy ropes provided and peg to the ground. The awning also has anchor points to create water gutters to drain surface water in the rain.
How does it perform in a strong wind? – The awning has a large surface area so sudden wind gusts could become hazardous. We do not recommend using the awning on strong wind days.
Optional walls and awning extensions – Walls are sold separately.
How many people are required to set up? – One person. The Eclipse 180° Awning is designed as a simple 1 person set up and pack down & inclement weather may require the assistance of another person.
What poles are included – 2 x pivoting alloy telescopic poles are included and purposely fitted under awning arms for easy access and stowing.
Water drainage – Included guy ropes need to be fixed between rafters to create a water runoff valley. You can see an example of this in the YouTube video.
