Description:
The Campmor Safari Bow tent has been the pick of the range as our best seller for more than 10 years in a row. Hundreds of the Safari Bow tents are being used today across Australia at holiday parks, zoos, mining companies, glamping sites, eco tourism, remote accommodation, scout groups, and tour companies. The tent of choice for Cockatoo Island and Dubbo Zoo for more than 12 years.  It offers a great amount of space inside for extra head room, comfort and air flow. This is our premium quality model with the best quality components for ongoing reliable performance.

The Campmor Safari Bow is suitable for a couple or a family, ideal for 2 people with standing room, can sleep up to 5 people, and includes a protective front awning with a side windbreak that can be removed. This tent has often been used to set up glamping sites with enough room for a regular queen size bed inside. This tent is the number 1 pick by many tour operators across Australia for its long life expectancy, internal space, and simplicity of set up.

This short video shows the Campmor tents in a massive dust storm on Sydney Harbour where 80 of these tents stood up to 100km hour winds.

The Campmor Safari Bow Tent offers the highest quality components with enough room for a family, and plenty of standing room inside. One of our premium range of tents which use the highest quality canvas available, making them the strongest and most durable tents in the range which is why our commercial customer love them. These are the ONLY TENTS IN AUSTRALIA using this exclusive rip stop canvas, and these tents have been used and tested in the Australian market for more than 15 years proving their suitability, reliability and quality for a variety of Australian environments. Exclusive to Diamantina tents, and quality tested to pass the Category 5 quality assurance test.

This is a compact tent for its size.  The canvas is packed into a single zippered PVC carry bag, and the poles come in their own carry bag which is very compact.  Its simple design means no guy ropes are required at all (except for the front awning), and only 8 minutes to set up a tent that can handle almost anything mother nature throws at it. Unlike other disposable tents that will likely break with a gust of wind, these tents are made with the best components, so you can relax and concentrate on other things.

The 3mx3m floor area is the size of most pop up gazebos, which means 5 mattresses can fit on the ground that are 60cm wide each, or the space is perfect for a queen size bed in the middle. Why should you seriously consider this great little shelter ? Take a look firstly at every other dome tent on the market and you will find they all require guy ropes to set them up. If you don’t use the guy ropes and a wind comes along and breaks the poles, your warranty is void (read the fine print in warranty paperwork with all brands).

THIS TENT HAS BEEN TESTED IN 100KM WINDS WITHOUT GUY ROPES.

The poles didn’t break. That’s because instead of using hollow fiberglass poles or alloy poles that can easily fracture, these tents are made with SOLID CORE SPRING STEEL POLES.  The spring steel is super strong but also very flexible, and has a memory to keep its shape and structure for many years of use. So we have the best frames. And they are so simple to set up. No fiddly extra bits to worry about. And you will feel secure in the knowledge this little tent will stand up to storms, so you can relax and sleep well.

The canvas used is a 400G RIP STOP POLY/ COTTON SAFARI CANVAS. Better than the canvas used in many swags. Its tough, has a superior tear strength, doesn’t fade quickly and can handle a few bumps and bruises along the way. The poly cotton blend means the canvas can breathe in hot climates and therefore reduces heat and condensation inside. This is a huge natural benefit for Australian climates that is not achieved in polyester or other synthetic tent materials.

The floor is 550g PVC. This is tougher than some camper trailer materials. No sewn seams on the floor. You wont wear a hole in this floor easily. The zippers used are YKK. Simply the worlds best. Do some research and find out how many other tents use these zips, most don’t.

Our commercial partners who have used these tents for years realise pretty quickly they have found the best, and keep re using these models. They just don’t have to deal with tears and breaks and lost parts like other tents. This is no fuss quality that you can rely on to do a great job.

Time and time again in camp sites all over Australia these tents outlast and out perform all other tents of a similar size in harsh weather conditions. Don’t pay attention to the latest marketing goop talking about pop up this and air pole that, the idea of convenience cant out perform a simple and strong product built to last.

Features and Benefits:
Virtually unbreakable solid core spring steel poles – never worry about dealing with a snapped pole again.
Exclusive rip stop poly/cotton canvas – the only tents that can be set up semi-permanently without fear of fading or deteriorating in the harsh Australian sun. No other tents dare to make this claim.
Category 5 compliance – meets strict quality control standards to offer the highest quality possible.
Cooler – the materials used allow hot air to escape, providing more comfort.
Quieter – These tents don’t rattle and shake when the winds pick up. Compare this to a floppy dome tent or pop up tent that rattles all night in the wind.
Stronger – Much stronger structure in cross winds, holding their shape firm and stable.
Durable – Hands down will last up to 10 years longer in the Australian sun than most other dome tents. Put up a cheap dome tent in the sun for 1 month and watch what happens to the materials (will fade and break down).
Darker – Don’t buy a light and bright coloured tent because at 6am when the sun is up, so are you as the tent will be a bright glow. These tents deliberately let in less light in the early morning hours allowing you to enjoy more peaceful sleep.
Water resistant – Highly water resistant materials and treatments are used so these tents perform in the harshest conditions.
Strong rip stop UV resistant shadecloth netting used on the windows and doors. All other tents use nylon or polyester no seeum mesh that tears easily and breaks down in the sun.
Super Heavy Duty 550g waterproof PVC bucket floor. Simply nothing more heavy duty that this.
Never buy another tent again. Built to last.

* Note – Conditions apply. Free freight to capital cities includes Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth only.  Orders to Hobart, Darwin and all regional areas outside these locations will incur freight charges at subsidized rates. Price on application.

  • Optional double extension available – This is a 3 room set up and the double extension is the joiner piece in the middle of two Safari Bow Dome tents on each end to create a large family size tent where adults can sleep at one end, children at the other end, with a living room in the middle. This means up to 8 people can sleep in this tent design. This is a very versatile design as the tents can still be used individually for a quick weekend away or joined together to create the large family tent.   This set up has been popular for a number of glamping sites and semi permanent remote accommodation sites to cater for family groups.  To create the 3 room tent set up requires 2 X Bow tents and 1 X Bow double extension. The overall size of this set up is approx 9 mtrs long X 3 metres wide X 225cm high.  Click here to review – https://diamantina.net.au/product/campmor-safari-bow-double-extension-3-room-canvas-tent/

Testimonials:
“I was down the coast last week in the 3m (Campmor Bow) version 225 tall, in 100k m hour winds and over 200mm of rain, tent was great” David Sullivan

“I am impressed with the quality of the tents in materials used and construction. We have had gusty strong winds throughout the month as well as fires and the tents stand strong. In the exploration and resources industry it is imperative that our equipment can withstand extremely harsh conditions and I have full confidence that your Campmor tents will be with us for many seasons to come”. Chris Wilson, Sheffield Resources.

“The (Safari Bow double) extension tent is up permanently now and people love it. Because of more usage the Bow Tents are left up in between camps and they are perfect. Thanks so much for your commitment to servicing our needs.”
Phil, Camp Eagle Mountain Retreat

“The (Campmor Safari Hennie and Safari Bow) tents have been set up permanently for 3 years and withstood many strong storms. Due to their suitability to the island conditions we have re ordered more tents. Thanks Justin”
Kevin Smith, Cockatoo Island Accommodation Manager, Sydney Harbour. 2012.
“We don’t want to change them. More than happy to continue with the same models. Nothing better”.

  2. Nicolas Scharm TREK LARAPINTA

The Campmor Safari Bow Tent has been a core part of delivering high end walking experiences on the Larapinta Trail for us for many years now. The sturdy construct and bomb proof canvas tents are used in our semi permanent eco-campsites for 7 months of the year. Exposed to a constant hammering of UV and high wind, our guests have the best sleeps after a day out walking in their personal Safari Bow Tent. Great tents all round!

    to Justin

I purchased a Campmor Safari Bow 3 Metre canvas tent in 2014. I bought a tent because I dont like swags at all too small and claustraphobic for me. I love to go camping and a good safe nights sleep is very important to me. I did lots of research before I purchased my tent as I wanted canvas because it is strong and waterproof . So I looked at Campmor Diamantina tents they are canvas with a frame on the outside and no bloody ropes to be tripping over in the dark. So I liked what I saw and paid well over $1,000 for my tent. Quality isn,t cheap and cheap isn,t quality. So happy to say that it was money well spent. I have never had a problem at all 🙂 . The tent is very high quality with quality zips on all window flaps and door. It has a high quality zippered gauze door and windows so no flies mozzies or goannas can invade your privacy. It is easy to set up although the first time was interesting as I camp by myself and another pair of hands would of been helpful. But now it is simple because of all the practice I have had putting it up and taking it down. Have a look on youtube they have some videos on how to erect and take down this tent very helpful. I have spent a few days and nights stuck in the tent because of heavy rain strong winds and storms no worries at all always dry and safely anchored to the ground. Happy days. Actually going to buy another one of their tents one a bit smaller as I am 60 years old now with a back injury and the 3 metre tent is getting a little too much for me to lug around and put up. So more happy safe dry camping trips ahead in my new Campmor Diamantina tent. So if you want a great quality dependable easy to set up waterproof tent that will last for years get a Campmor Diamantina you wont be dissapointed. And enjoy. And to everybody who reads this Please stay safe. Regards Mr Bush Kurri Kurri NSW.

I bought this tent in 2012 – still going strong in 2021! Tough and great quality. At first I was worried about the weight and set up. But I can now set up the dome in under 3 mins and for short stays the dome does not require any pegs or guys so it can be really quick. It has also stood up to some serious weather (when pegged out) and also been semi-permanently pitched for over 6 months without any serious weathering.

Really important point is that it is so dark and insulated giving us the best sleep in’s – which is great for the kids (and me) and keeps so much cooler on hot days than other tent constructions.

Yes it is heavy but so well made and so functional that I am very happy we invested in it – and it has lasted so well.
Thanks Diamantina. Regards from Tim in Margaret River

Thank you Tim. Great to hear from you after all these years. And your tent has withstood 6 months semi permanent set up. I’m impressed. Here’s to many more adventures. Diamantina Outdoors.
